DONUT TRACKER
Limitations
The majority of the data that Donut Tracker gets comes from the DonutSMP API, which, although it provides good data, has a variety of limitations that only the DonutSMP team can fix and that we ultimately have no control over.
These limitations can be summarized as:
No way to view order listings
The API currently does not expose DonutSMP's Orders market, meaning Donut Tracker (and any other similar trackers) cannot track orders at all.
No enchantment data
There is no way to tell if an item has an enchantment or not. Items such as the mace have their value nearly double when enchanted with Wind Burst III, but because enchantments are not tracked, they are both seen as the same item. All enchanted books are also lumped into the same section.
Occasional throttling that causes a lot of transactions to be missed
The API very often throttles or limits requests from websites as big as ours that track a lot of things. As a result, a lot of data is missed, and there can be periods of almost an hour where the website doesn't update the price.
Incomplete metadata
There is no way to tell between item variants. All potions are just seen as "minecraft:potion," with no way to differentiate between them. A shard pickaxe is 3× more expensive than a regular netherite pickaxe, but they are both displayed as a netherite pickaxe by the API. So it's impossible to tell them apart. Special shard items are especially tricky, as they expire 24 hours after being created, so their minimum price can wildly fluctuate towards the end of their life cycle with no way for it to be tracked. As a result, all items with a shard variant are impossible to track without inaccuracy and are therefore excluded from the list.
